对不起,fedora,今天我正式向你说再见。原因是我……另结新欢,爱上了Ubuntu。
从2007年开始知道世界上有个fedora,到后来试着使用,接着开始喜欢,然后就远离windows而在fedora下工作,后来慢慢疏远,到今天终究缘分是尽了。期间还曾尝试着写一系列文章,讲讲和fedora的爱情故事,可惜种种原因导致半途而废了。前不久,偶尔试用了一下Ubuntu,发现更容易用。当初WHT和田不野都向我推荐过Ubuntu,但由于先入为主,我坚持用fedora,而这次的改变算是机缘巧合。我选择软件的标准是上得厅堂下得厨房,比较之下,对我而言,Ubuntu在这两方面都更让我满意。
和fedora告别,把这几年来使用fedora的笔记全部贴在这里,就当是个吻别吧。
适用于fedora 8, 9, 10。
从硬盘安装Fedora
当电脑已经安装了Windows XP,并下载了Fedora的iso安装盘,想在电脑里安装双系统,按以下步骤:
Step 1、把Fedora-10-i386-DVD.iso,放在FAT32分区。
Step 2、提取出isolinux文件夹下面的两个文件 initrd.img 和 vmlinuz 放在C盘根目录下。
Step 3、下载grub4dos(URL:http://download.gna.org/grub4dos/),解压提取出个三个文件 grldr grub.exe 和 menu.lst 放在C盘根目录下。
Step 4、用记事本打开menu.lst,最后添加上:
title Install Fedora 10
kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz
initrd (hd0,0)/initrd.img
Step 5、用记事本打开C盘根目录下的系统隐藏文件boot.ini,后面加上如下内容:
c:grldr=GRUB
Step 6、重启,选择"GRUB” ,再选择"Install Fedora 10”,进入了安装界面,按提示逐步操作。
要想删除Linux而保留Windows,进入dos,利用命令fdisk /mbr,再在windows下将Linux分区都删除掉就可以了。
系统升级和优化
升级yum
在线升级:
yum update yum* rpm*
安装yum插件:
最快镜像插件:
yum install yum-fastestmirror
加速插件:
yum install yum-presto
然后编辑 /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo 文件,
su -c ‘gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo’
通过在地址行前面加 # 注释掉该镜像地址行,然后粘贴上下面这一行

安装yum的图形化软件yumex(可选):
yum install yumex
*系统升级
yum update
*关闭SElinux
不关闭SElinux就没法用Google Earth。也许有别的好办法?编辑/etc/sysconfig/selinux文件,将“SElinux=enforcing” 修改成“SElinux=disabled”并保存。在终端输入“getenforce”来查看SElinux是不是关闭了。或者在 “系统”-“首选项”里打开“SElinux management”。在第一个选项“System Default Enforcing Mode”选择“Disabled”。
*添加新到yum 源和fastestmirror插件(本条经验来自fedora 9,对10还不确定)
由于版权原因fedora 官方源里没有很多我们想要到东西,所以我们要添加一些非官方源,其中以livna 源和freshrpms 源最大家所熟知。

可以把windows 在Fonts文件夹里的全部字体拷贝到usr/share/fonts/zh_CN /TrueType/目录下就可以用了。

安装了永中Office,就发现多了一些中文字体支持,基本够用了。
*gedit显示中文
运行gconf-editor,在apps->gedit-2->preferences->encodings 在右边的auto-detected中双击会弹出一个对话框添加一个GB18030,并移到最前。
*旋转显示屏
学校给配了台新电脑,太宽了,我想把它竖过来用。设置方法是修改/etc/X11/xorg.conf,在Section “Device”中增加一行:

访问网络打印机
在防火墙配置里将可信区中的samba服务勾上,再在/etc/samba/smb.conf里将 workgroup值改为“workgroup”,就可以找到局域网中的共享打印机了。
今天装网络打印机,我们组的这台打印机有自己的ip,没人知道它在网络中的名字,导致我在列表中不能分辨。隔座的泰国姐姐用的是Ubuntu,一下就列出 了打印机的ip,很容易选择。我就把她的打印机设置抄过来了,发现好用!location是B2,URI是 hp:/net /HP_LaserJet_P2015_Series?ip=132.180.34.98
*evolution
地址簿把windows llive mail导出的csv文件导入的时候,中文都成了乱码,而且没法识别哪一列是姓名哪一列是邮件地址。后来我发现,从Kmail里导入csv,再导出sfv,evolution就可以了!
evolution发给别人的中文邮件,别人看到的是乱码且没有附件,而抄送给我自己的却是好的。看来是编码的问题。改成 GB818030就可以了,附件的文件名也得用英文。网上说是evolution与outlook的解码不一致造成的,用 thundermail会好一些。

中文显示:在preference-display-formatting-fonts中将收发信的编码改成GB18030。
中文名附件的支持:修改mime的编码值,方法是在编辑--首先项--高级--配置编辑器将mail.strictly_mime.parm_folding 改为0,重启软件。

下载的skype-2.0.0.72-fc5.i586.rpm直接安装。
设置中的soundin和soundout都选成HDA Intel (hw:Intel,0),然后把系统小喇叭的属性里的录音音量放大。

上qterm.org下载了一个rpm老版本 qterm-0.2.0-1.rh9.i386.rpm.rar安装,运行,设置字体。搞定。

查看系统是否已安装rdesktop软件:rpm -q rdesktop
若没有安装,下载安装包,根据安装配置文件说明进行安装。一般都是先解压缩 tar zxvf packagefile 到解压路径执行./configure然后make 和makeinstall.
安装成功后,在/usr/local/bin 下有rdesktop的可执行程序。
命令行中可用rdesktop -h得到命令帮助。
rdesktop -g 1024×768 -d 24 hostname
其中 “g 1024×768”设置分辨率为1024×768,“d 24”设置真彩24 位,hostname为 Windows 机器的主机名或者IP 地址。在输入了Windows XP的用户名和密码后,就可以登录并操作远程的Windows系统。

汉语支持包下载:http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.htmld。解压缩后进入该文件夹,sudo ./INSTALL 。但是升级到9之后原来的语言包就不能这样安装了,adobe主页上也没有提供相应的语言包。这时,只要把原语言包的三个压缩文件解开之后,拷贝到对应的安装目录即可。
把一个文件夹下的所有pdf合并成一个文件如Linuxidc.pdf:
gs -q -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOUTPUTFILE=Linuxidc.pdf -dBATCH *.pdf
pdf批注:用系统自带的okular即可,但是并不保存在pdf文档中。还可以用xournal(yum安装),但需要另存。

插入特殊字符:在~/.scim/建立一个文件夹 chinese,下面建立一个special_table文件,里面按照一定格式填入特殊字符,调用时输入i就可以了!常用不常用的字符列表附在文末:
Linux和Microsoft Windows
安装wine
yum install wine
*调整双系统的启动顺序
进入Linux,更改/boot/grub/grub.conf文件,找到default=0,0表示默认进入启动选项的第1项。改为windows对应的数字即可。
*vmware
从vmware主页上下载安装包,rpm安装。然后运行,就说找不到kernel heads。于是安装kernel-devel:
[root@localhost ~]# yum install kernel-devel
检查kernel跟kernel-devel的版本号
[root@localhost ~]# uname -r
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -q kernel-devel
两个版本号一致!如果不一致,要进行升级:
[root@localhost ~]# yum -y upgrade kernel kernel-devel
就可以用了。
可是重启系统后发现又不能用了,说Could not open /dev/vmmon。网上说是没有把 vmware 加到 默认的 runlevel,需要用su来运行#/etc/init.d/vmware start
这时就可以用了。
虚拟机上网,需要在settings中把hardware下面的Network Adapter选为Bridged,并选中Replicate…可以上网了!
*virtualbox
上virtualbox下载run文件。
先安装gcc 和 kernel-devel :
yum install gcc kernel-devel compat-libstdc++-33 libcap
执行VirtualBox 安装程序 :
sh *.run
执行完成后,VirtualBox 会安装在 /opt/VirtualBox-2.1.0 目录中。通过主菜单的 [系统工具 -> Sun xVM VirtualBox] 进行启动和运行。
如果没有成功运行,可以通过终端模式运行/opt/VirtualBox- 2.1.0/VirtualBox,看缺少什么动态链接库,安装相应的包即可。
安装过程中可能遇到问题“ can’t find libcap.so.1”。解决方法:
cd /lib
ln -s libcap.so.2.10 libcap.so.1
至此,VirtualBox 运行成功
声音:选中ASLA即可 。
USB设备:在用户和群管理中添加用户支持。我的必须用root帐户运行才能正常启用。参考:http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=164209
从客机访问主机的共享目录:vboxsvr共享目录名称
卸载:sudo ./XXX.run uninstall。注意XXX.run文件是安装时的文件全名。
注:上述是旧版本。如今有了rpm新版本,用 rpm安装卸载即可。

说明我的usb转串口芯片是PL-2303,对应系统设备是 dev/ttyUSB0。

*图形启动问题
系统启动界面是个蓝色滚动条加载的画面,想变得炫一些,要编辑/boot/grub/grub.conf文件,在最后一行添加帧缓冲分辨率,如:

上面的865是1280×800分辨率。873是1680×1050。也可填写ask,这样启动时会要求用户自己选择。
登录界面
语言可以中英文切换,只需将/etc/sysconfig/i18n文件中的en_US.UTF-8改为zh_CN.UTF- 8即可。

运行gconf-editor,在apps,nautilus,desktop中设置。

信息的城市代码,叫做location ID,是在weather.com上查询城市,网址栏最末出现的代码。
收音机组件:
在/usr/share/screenlets/Radio/menu.xml文件,添加更多频道,如:
